
The man lowered the hand that was carrying the strange half-human device to his side. The grey-ish fingers opened flaccidly as its center of gravity shifted and a lone drop of blood gently snaked down the side before gracefully releasing itself to the floor.
With his other hand, the man reached out palm-up to Sienna and stated in a slow and almost soothing voice “You and the boy must come with me now or die. We haven’t a moment to lose. Please trust me.”
An ominous rumble was getting loader in the distance from through the opened door and a gust of wind blew in. The lights flickered. “We must leave now!” The man’s voice had lost a bit of its calm.
